Millbrook, Ashgrove Street

The tight chest before a meeting has a reason. Let’s find it.

Six therapists, three specialties — trauma, couples, and teens — in a converted house on Ashgrove Street. Your first session is free, no strings, so you can tell if it’s a fit before you pay for anything.

Our Therapists

Six people, three specialties, no assigned intake.

You choose who you see — we don’t assign by availability. Read the bios, pick who sounds right, and if it’s not a fit after the free session, we’ll help you find someone else here or elsewhere. That happens more than people expect, and it’s not a failure on either side.

Renata Solís, LCSW

Trauma-focused, EMDR certified

TraumaEMDRPTSD

Works with a lot of first responders and healthcare workers — people whose job is the trauma.

Devon Okafor, LMFT

Couples therapy, Gottman Method

CouplesCommunicationPre-marital

Sees roughly 40 couples a week; says the fights that actually end relationships are almost never about the dishes.

Priya Anand, LCSW

Teen and adolescent therapy

TeensAnxietySchool Stress

Keeps a shelf of card games in her office because half her clients talk more freely with their hands busy.

Marcus Webb, LPC

Trauma-focused, somatic approaches

TraumaSomaticGrief

Former paramedic, switched careers after ten years on ambulances.

Elena Vukovic, LMFT

Couples and family systems

CouplesFamilyDivorce Transitions

Runs a monthly co-parenting workshop that's usually full a month out.

Sam Ridley, LCSW

Teen and young-adult therapy

TeensCollege TransitionIdentity

The therapist most of the college-bound seniors specifically ask for by name.

First Session

Free, 45 minutes, no obligation.

  1. 1

You email or call, tell us roughly what’s going on, and we match you with two or three therapists whose specialty fits.

  2. 2

You pick one (or ask to see a bio) and book directly on their calendar — usually within a week, sometimes sooner.

  3. 3

The first session is 45 minutes, free, and unrecorded in your file if you decide not to continue — it’s genuinely a trial, not a soft-sell intake.

  4. 4

If it’s a fit, you schedule regular sessions. If it’s not, we’ll suggest someone else here or give you three outside referrals.

Fees

The actual numbers, not “contact us.”

Standard rate is $150/session. Sliding scale runs from $60 to $150 based on income — you tell us where you land, we don’t ask for proof. Eight sliding-scale slots per therapist are reserved and usually full, so ask early. We’re out-of-network with insurance but provide a superbill every month if your plan reimburses.

No one has ever been turned away from Fernwood over the sliding-scale amount they chose. That’s a practice policy, not a slogan.

“I called four places before Fernwood. It’s the only one that told me an actual price on the phone instead of ‘let’s discuss during intake.’”
— J. Alvarez, client since 2023
“Devon didn’t try to fix us in the first session. He just asked better questions than we’d asked each other in ten years.”
— R. & K. Thomason, couples client
