Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play Minesweeper?
Click any cell to reveal it. Your first click is always safe. Numbers tell you how many mines are hiding in the 8 cells around it, so use those numbers to work out where the mines are without clicking on one.
What are the controls for Minesweeper?
Left-click (or tap) to reveal a cell, right-click (or long-press on mobile) to flag a suspected mine. Clicking a revealed number when you've flagged all its adjacent mines will reveal its other neighbors automatically.
What difficulty levels does this Minesweeper have?
Beginner (9x9, 10 mines), Intermediate (16x16, 40 mines), Expert (30x16, 99 mines), and Crazy (50x30, 400 mines), a deliberately brutal bonus difficulty for bragging rights.
Is this Minesweeper free to play?
Yes, completely free, with no account, login, or app download required.
Does it save my best time?
Your best clear time for each difficulty is saved only in your current browser via localStorage, so it will not sync across devices.
